As we progress with technology we are eventually able to come up with a way to do just about anything. HelpingScience is a service that waves a magic wand and helps turn Specimen Images into digital collection records that can be downloaded and then used in your collection management software. The concept of our service is broken into a few human and automated computer steps. The final result is large amounts of specimen sheets being processed in days and months and not months and years. Data that we process?

At this time we are able to process these Darwin Core fields:

  • Family, Genus, Species (Epithet), Subspecies / Variety, Authorship
  • Latitude, Longitude, Township Range Section
  • Country, State / Province, County
  • Accession Number
  • Type Specimen
  • Collector, Collector Number, Date Collected
  • Determiner, Date Determined

So how can we help you? The first requirment is that you must have already scanned your collection data
